Carol Rusaw spent her childhood and young adulthood traveling with her military family. Although she recognized artistic ability, she decided that she would be a writer. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English, she continued graduate studies in education, public administration, theology, and adult education. She worked as a draftsman-illustrator with the Air Force, a newspaper reporter, advertising copywriter, a teacher of English as a Second Language, a manager of leadership and management development programs with the federal government, and professor of management, organizational change, leadership, and adult education.
