Doreen began working with oil pastels as a student of Luba Sterlikova and as a member of her private group of artists, exhibiting at the Lorton Workhouse and at the Rockville Library, Thor Gallery in Colonial Beach and most recently at McCall Studio in Manassas.  She has taken numerous painting classes from the Smithsonian Associates as part of their certificate program.  Along with Smithsonian students she has spent painting weeks in Tuscany, Italy in 2019 and Provence, France in 2022.
