Born in northern Virginia, Emily has also lived in California, Florida and North Carolina.
While she took studio and art history courses at the University of Virginia, she graduated with double majors in English and Psychology and obtained her Master of Science in Psychology at ODU in Norfolk.
She has taken private lessons in NC and drawing at NVCC, but is essentially a self-taught artist. Emily camps, sails, and tends gardens and non-human family members ranging from dogs to a variety of reptiles.
She was a member of the former Woodbridge Art Guild - now PWAS -where she has held several board and committee positions including being the present Programs Chair.
