What is PWAS?Prince William Art Society is a membership organization that supports the Arts and Artists in Prince William County, VA.

Who can join PWAS?You can! The Prince William Art Society is open to everyone 18 years of age or older who loves the fine arts. Be sure to see the Membership page of this website for the benefits of membership and costs.

Why should I join PWAS?Support the Arts in Prince William County. Mingle with and learn from other artists. Sell your art using our online gallery or submit your art for display and sale at one of the shows that our group attends.

Does PWAS participate in art shows?Yes, PWAS participates in multiple art shows. Examples include: Occoquan Riverfest, Taste of Woodbridge, Arts Alive, and the Tall Oaks Spring and Fall shows. Check the News-Events page of this website frequently for upcoming shows.

When and where are PWAS monthly meetings?Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Tall Oaks Community Center. Address: 12298 Cotton Mill Dr., Woodbridge, VA. The public is welcome. Check the Meetings page of this website for speakers and programs (Click Here).

Does PWAS offer classes and workshops?Yes, from time-to-time we schedule classes and workshops. Recent examples include: The Bob Ross method of Oils, Pour Art Acrylics, Essentials of Watercolors. Check the News-Events page of this website for details.

How can I display my art on this website?Two ways: (1) PWAS members can get a page in the Art Showcase (online gallery) for a small additional fee (currently $25/year), and (2) Art can be displayed in our online store by responding to one of the juried calls for art that we issue from time-to-time for specific venues. See the "Shop/Store" category of FAQs for more information.

Who do I contact if I have art news to share with the PWAS members and on Social Media?Email social@princewilliamartsociety.com This notifies our Webmaster, Blog Admin and Facebook Coordinator when you have PWAS news, events, program info, art news, Calls for Art, Art shows and images (with content) that the PWAS Social Media Team can share across our online channels. Remember that images sent from an art event must have information about what the image is about, where it was taken, who is in the image - Detailed CONTENT, unless there is already a backstory of the event.

Does PWAS offer college scholarships?Yes, the Prince William Art Society accepts applications from High School seniors in the Winter/Spring of most years. Applicants should be Prince William County residents. One or two scholarships are generally awarded in May.
